This project aims to improve carbon management at Malaysian seaports using blockchain and IoT technology. By tracking real-time emissions data and ensuring compliance with environmental standards, the system enhances operational efficiency and promotes transparency in reporting. IoT devices monitor fuel consumption and engine performance, providing actionable insights for emissions reduction and positioning Malaysia’s seaports as leaders in sustainable development. The ABIC funding will support sensor installation, software development, and stakeholder engagement. The project will develop and implement a comprehensive emissions tracking system at key seaports in the next six months, integrating IoT and blockchain for real-time data collection and pilot testing. Within two years, the system will scale to all major seaports, establishing Malaysia as a global leader in sustainable maritime operations and significantly contributing to emissions reduction.
