ReFeed

ReFeed tackles the issue of used cooking oil (UCO) disposal in Vietnam by implementing an innovative collection and recycling model. Partnering with local women, particularly elderly and retired individuals, ReFeed gathers UCO from households and restaurants, which is then exported to Singapore for processing into biodiesel. This initiative not only reduces environmental pollution but also empowers economically disadvantaged women by providing them with income opportunities. The project fosters a circular economy built on inclusivity, sustainability, and economic empowerment, benefiting both society and the environment. ABIC funding will be used to expand UCO collection areas, establish new partnerships, train economically disadvantaged women to serve as UCO collection agents, and develop app features to streamline the collection process. In the next six months, ReFeed will focus on implementing its UCO collection and recycling system, achieving initial milestones that support its long-term goals. In two years, ReFeed aims to establish a sustainable and scalable waste management system across Vietnam, leveraging innovative technology to optimize UCO collection and recycling, thereby contributing to both economic empowerment and environmental sustainability.
